What makes a café a happy and positive place? Serotonin Eatery prides itself on being part of the science of making you happy by providing you a bright and fresh menu along with an equally uplifting venue. As for me, just eating good food is enough to make me incredibly satisfied and happy. I was interested in finding out what else Serotonin Eatery could add to the equation.
On first impression the large open windows and beautiful flower arrangements definitely put me in the right mood. If only the music wasn’t strangely bordering on EDM I think that I would have loved to sit in my sunlit corner forever.
After seeing it trending for so long, I figured that it was finally time to give turmeric latte a try. It’s difficult to describe how it tastes. Suffice to say it was earthy and slightly spicy.
Gingerbread latte sounded far too inviting to pass up. This tasted much more like a traditional chai latte, only a touch sweeter and more dessert-like. I really enjoyed the cute little smiley face of cinnamon on the cup and couldn’t help smiling right back at it.
The nutrition bomb is an overflowing bowl of vibrant colours and components. Although most of this was plant based the serving was incredibly generous and I struggled to finish everything. I particularly enjoyed the roasted and slightly charred pumpkin.
As expected the positive pancakes tasted very strongly of banana. Personally, I’m not too fond of banana flavours but the berry sauce was a lovely combination of tart and juicy sweet flavours. Ryan mopped this whole dish up in no time, so that is probably a testament to how good it is for those who are not as banana averse as me.
On the way out I spotted some swing seats in the outdoor courtyard. If nothing else, sitting on a swing while you eat brunch is bound to bring a smile to your face. Although Serotonin Eatery is definitely on the pricier side, you can tell that they really care about what they’re doing and the philosophy of happiness and health behind their menu.
